Once Again

It's that frightening feeling
Of every waking up
When you call out to the heavens
Begging this be a dream.

It's that frightening feeling
Of every breaking down
When you fight back the tears
Begging this be the last.

It's that frightening feeling
Of every tick of the clock
When every second is lost
Begging time be still.

It's that frightening feeling
Of every goodbye
When you've seen it happen before
Begging life tell you why.

A little hint of a smile
A little gleam in the eye
A little spring in the walk
A little more joy in the talk
A little tug in the heart
A little weight off the soul
A little skip
A little flutter
One after another.

Through glass windows
One bright early morning
Before my very eyes
The world moved
Stirred quietly from its sleeping
Told a tale that never dies.
The parking lot
Full of cars
Trickled in one by one
The once quiet coffee room
Became a den of wars
Filled with people who have come and gone.
Beautiful buildings
From across the view
For the first time held my gaze
And these feelings
I felt I knew
Just never ceased to amaze.
Drinking in
These rare moments
Forgotten they exist in time
Writing again
Loving these arguments
Aligning my world with rhyme.
And the busy folks
Cleaning the window
Now gave me a clearer view
This life
This chance to see yellow
Is a privelege earned by few.
I am Summer
I am Autumn
I am Winter and Fall
I am the season
More than you can fathom
I am here for it all!
